Parent Council

Stockbridge Primary have their own Parent Council Website, where you can find out what we do and how to get involved

All parents and carers are members of the Parent Forum. The Parent Council’s job is to communicate the view of the Forum to the Head Teacher and where appropriate, to the wider community.

All parents and carers are welcome to attend, whether you have an idea or suggestion to contribute, or simply wish to hear more about what’s happening in school.

If you have a personal concern, it’s better to raise this directly with your child’s teacher.

Who is on the Council?

There are 1 or 2 Class Representatives from each class, including the nursery.  The Head Teacher also attends Council meetings to report on school news and respond to issues being discussed.

School Lunches, Milk & Trips

Lunches & Milk:
Our school lunches are provided by the Edinburgh Catering Services. Please have a look at The City of Edinburgh Councils website where you will see the menu and allergen information, Children will receive a hot school lunch Monday to Thursday and receive a cold packed lunch on a Friday. All Primary 1 to Primary 5 children are entitled to a free school lunch. We provide free milk to all pupils in our early years centres. In primary and special schools, children entitled to free school meals also qualify for free milk. Please note – this is not an automatic entitlement in Primary 1 to Primary 4 – free school milk must be applied for if you are in receipt of benefits.

Some children choose to bring a packed lunch. Please name your child’s lunch box. Packed lunches are eaten in the school hall with school lunch pupils. All will eat together. Our staff on duty at lunchtime help the children when required and encourage them to take any uneaten food home. If you wish your child to go home for lunch please inform your child’s class teacher. Please visit The City of Edinburgh Council’s website to view the allergen and menu information.

Please let us know if your child has any special dietary needs. Please contact our school office: admin@stockbridge.edin.sch.uk

Edinburgh Council can provide children from low income families with free school meals and money to help towards buying school clothes, please see the website link below for full information.

All lunches must be ordered by midnight on Wednesday for the following week/s. Amendments can be made up to that same date if you have booked in advance. Please do not book on school holidays/in-service days. If the class is going on a trip, you can order a packed lunch that day if you wish.

Trips:
We will endeavour to give as much notice as possible. Although trips are paid for individually, there is an option to put money on your account, which may help spread the cost over the year. You will still have to remember to transfer the money to the individual trip which you can pay via Parent Pay

Parent Pay

The City of Edinburgh Council now collect all school payments through Parent Pay via MYGOV.SCOT

All lunches (free or not), school trips, photographs, breakfast clubs and other activities that would need payment are made through this system.

Once your child has started school you will be issued with an activation letter. Please ensure that your account has been set up and keep your details safe. Before you register for Parent Pay you must set up a MY GOV SCOT account (if you do not have one already) and all subsequent logins to Parent Pay must be done via the MY GOV SCOT link on the Parent Pay website

Please Remember to pay promptly: If you feel that you are unable to make these payments for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
f you are able to pay more than the cost of trip/event, please do so as we are always left with a significant shortfall in our budget following visits and trips as some parents are unable to pay. Most items will have the option to over-pay.

Items will be put on parent pay that are available to the whole school e.g. breakfast club, milk etc. You do not have to pay for these unless you want to order them. However, they will remain showing as available for you to order but are not a demand for payment.

If you are unsure of whether you should be paying for an item on parent pay, please do not pay it. Contact the school office on admin@stockbridge.edin.sch.uk
